Hi, Hola, Bonjour! I’m Robert Gallo and I am a Product Designer and a front-end developer, with dreams of being regarded as a thought leader over time in my career and in the design industry.
I was born in New Jersey, but raised in the peach state of Georgia. Growing up, I had a unique perspective of the world – being American, and being Hispanic, I have an aptitude for asking questions about how things work, and exploring the realms of what makes us, us. I learned everyone has a story to tell, and it’s important to be open to change and fresh ideas.
Shortly after high school, I struggled with homelessness, and having bad anxiety and depression. Even though it was a dark moment of my life, I became fascinated in learning how to become better— and during that process is where I found a deep love for technology and design.
Although I couldn’t afford to learn the craft in the traditional way at that time, I did find other ways to acquire all of the necessary knowledge. I attended courses and even schooling such as the UX Design Institute, watched tutorials led by professionals, read books and blogs, and always applied what I had learned to projects in my spare time and at work.
I now attend at the Glasgow Caledonian University studying UX Design and Interaction Design Foundations to really tie up everything I’ve learned in the past 8 years to a top-notch, professional caliber.
Currently, I’m a Product Designer at Color Atoms. I manage design projects throughout all stages and mentor a team of designers and developers. Not to mention I am the Founder of this company.
